Griffin Media Consultant:
GMC is a tool developed to take the guess work out of encoding. It
helps to predict the best resolution and frame rate for encoding a
stream.
For example: you have footage captured at 640x480x24 fps and want to stream
it out to the web at 512 kbps. What is the best resolution? In this case
most of us know that it is going to be 320x240.
But... What about at 384kbps? or 256? or 56? what about if I need CD
quality audio what do I need to drop the resolution to?
GMC will predict the best resolution, and make sure that the resolution is a
multiple of 16 to ensure quality encoding.

What's to come:
The next version of GMC will actually start the encoding session for you.
Also planned:
- Real Time Cropping of Live Streams
- Color Depth selection (no longer will WMV be limited to 24bits)
- Fractional fps encoding (1.5 and .5 all the way to .25 fps)
- Variable Bit Rate Live Streams.
- Preview quality and resolution setting before encoding.
